Texas Yoga Conference - Unity Church
Saturday Feb 19th, Room 4; 1:00 - 3:00 PM
Ancient science and philosophy of yoga is based on inter-connectedness of universe, planet, earth, animals, plants, water, and air. Yoga is grounded in the belief that health of our bodies depends on clean air, clean water, and clean food. Yoga teaches ahimsa, or non-violence, non-injury and non-harming to self, to other living beings, and to earth itself. Through a rich mixture of multimedia presentation and group discussion, we will find challenge and joy in consciously embracing both the spirituality and practicality of yogic lifestyle.
Participants will be introduced to the sister science of yoga called Vastu. We will practice tuning in to our inner scientist to help us make practical, down to earth changes in our life and practice that will help heal the planet and ourselves. Using the tool of guided meditation, observation, and planning, the participant will plan to create a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle and yoga practice.
